The Devil Dogs, Baby!
I searched the internet far and wide, and, no matter how I looked, just couldn't find anything related to one of my very favorite bands, The Devil Dogs. So, like everybody and their grandmother does these days, I said, "Well fuck it then, I'll make my own goddamn web site!"
If you're not familiar with them, The Dogs played high-energy rock and roll that is rooted as much in the fifties and garage-punk sixties as it is in the nineties. Once you hear them, you WILL be hooked! They had a great sound, bad-ass Brooklyn attitude, great songs, and they ROCKED like there was no fucking tomorrow! They also had the talent of being able to cover ANY song and almost invariably improve on the original. The Devil Dogs unlocked the secret formula of rock and roll and used it to their (and everybody else's) fullest advantage.
They also had massive libido action goin' on - they were quite possibly the most hard-on-wielding bunch of rock'n'rollers since the Knack, or maybe even the Troggs! A lot of UPTIGHT ASSHOLES had a problem with the band's testosterone-laden lyrics (like "When ya gonna fuck me, baby, when ya gonna gimme head?", f'rexample) but the fact is, they were loved by guys and gals alike. Despite BOTH sexes (there ARE just two, right?) bein' hip to what the boys were layin' down I gotta say that, speaking from a male point-of-view, nothing can lift my spirits higher when the womenfolk have got me beat down than to listen to The Devil Dogs. When they've got you feeling lower than low, crank up "Baby I'm A King" and you ARE a fucking king, jack! At least for a coupla minutes...
ANYWAY, this IS my first attempt at creating a website, so if it don't make your eyes pop outta your fuckin' head, save your complaints for somebody who gives a shit! If, on the other hand, you have some constructive criticism or information that might actually help me improve this site...bring it on! Well, take a look around...I hope you like. I got the history of the band (including their current whereabouts and latest projects), I got a list of every record they've ever appeared on, I got sonic samples, I got some wild pictures, and I even got lyrics and chords to some of the songs for those of you who are too stupid and/or lazy to figure it all out for yourselves...and much, much more.
